Our History / 21st Century / Investment strategies

To stay competitive in the print industry, continuous investment in new technologies, processes and presses is essential. As long ago as 2002, Pollards won a BPIF award as ‘Best UK Digital Printer’ – leading on the use of variable data in marketing. In recent years, with leadership from David Mace (Managing Director), Pollards has invested in the most advanced lithographic press from the Heidelberg XL range, and has further upgraded its digital printing devices and various forms of advanced mailing equipment. All investments are carefully appraised in relation to productivity and environmental impacts. The factory roof has proved to be ideal for almost 500 solar panels, generating 200 kW per hour to power the presses. Our latest investments have boosted our mailing capabilities with envelope printing, enclosing and overprinting equipment as well as the best in class software to drive variable data solutions.
