This election leaflet was produced by Pollards in 1820. It celebrates Sir Thomas Dyke Acland’s first election victory for the parliamentary constituency of Devon. The votes cast (over a period of 6 days and announced daily) were: Sir Thomas Acland 2,546 Thomas Bastard Esq 1,959 Viscount Ebrington 1,703 Sir Thomas held the seat up to 1832 when Devon was split into two constituencies. His reported election expenses were £80,000!
