With its expanded activity, Pollards became cramped for space in central Exeter and the old site in Southernhay was eventually sold. This enabled a more modern factory to be built, with exceptional transport links by road, rail and air. The official opening of ‘Oak House’ at Sowton was held in June 1991. Brenda Dean, then General Secretary of a leading print trade union, officiated. She affirmed the excellent relationships between employees and management to which Pollards is committed. The range of typical activities at Oak House was recorded in 1999.
