Carbon Balancing

Reduce your Carbon Footprint with Pollards We are excited to announce that we are working with the World Land Trust, adopting their carbon balancing scheme to help fight the rise in carbon emissions.   What is Carbon Balancing? Printing our products releases carbon, which has been absorbed from the trees we get our paper from. This activity can contribute to our carbon footprint and global warming. However, by using carbon balanced paper we can prevent a rise in carbon emissions. The World Land Trust’s mission is to create and protect forest areas, which then absorb the equivalent amount of carbon that we would have contributed to carbon emissions. So far the World Land Trust has secured 6000,000 acres of threatened habitats in 20 countries, with support from Sir David Attenborough, Steve Backshall, David Gower and Chris Packham. It has proved to be one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to reduce carbon.   What are Pollards doing to help  Pollards’ clients can choose to offset their carbon emissions by indicating that they would like a product carbon balanced. We then calculate the cost using our carbon balanced calculator, and the amount of carbon saved and land preserved. This then generates a carbon balanced confirmation certificate, so that customers can show their commitment to carbon reduction. The trust updates us on the amount of carbon we have offset and how many square metres of threatened forests we have protected. Together, this could help lead the way to a carbon neutral future in printing.   For more information visit https://www.worldlandtrust.org/
