The heart of the business at William Pollard & Co. Ltd. is essential litho and digital printing. On a daily basis we carry out various printing and finishing operations, demonstrating a ‘duty of care’ in the handling and disposing of other peoples ‘waste’ in order to turn it into a reusable and valuable resource. This not only aids in dramatically reducing the consumption of paper, card, metal, mineral resources and finite fossil fuels, but supports the government waste minimisation hierarchy of reduce, reuse, recycle, recover and least preferable, send waste to landfill.
We provide an auditable process for dealing with the public’s waste so that it has the least impact on the environment. However, we do recognise that our print processing and supporting actions collectively may have an impact on the environment. It is our responsibility to reduce these impacts to a minimum, prevent pollution and be committed to continual improvement.
In order to meet these commitments, we have established a comprehensive Environmental System (ISO 14001:2004). This enables us to operate in accordance with UK environmental legislation and where possible exceed all its relevant regulatory requirements.
This policy integrates principles, programmes, techniques and practices into a dynamic environmental management system that guides the Company’s managers and staff in the performance of their duties.
We will uphold and maintain the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody.
